National Championship brackets set for Wrestling

RALEIGH The nine NC State athletes heading to Tulsa, OK now know where they will be seeded in their quest for a national title.

The NCAA released the brackets for all 10 weight classes on Wednesday night. A complete NCAA bracket can be found here.

The NCAA Championships begin next Thursday at the BOX Center.

NC State junior Trent Hidlay was the highest seeded member of the Pack, ranked No. 2 in the 184 class. Hidlay was one of four NC State wrestlers to win an ACC title over the weekend.

Jarrett Trombley, the ACC 125-pound champion, will be seeded No. 20. Kai Orine, the 133 ACC champion, will be seeded No 5. Heavyweight Owen Trephan will be seeded No. 7.

Overall, NC State had six wrestlers seeded in the top 10 of their respective classes.

Each bracket has 33 athletes, with the top seed earning a first-round by. The 32nd and 33rd seeded athletes start the brackets off in a play-in match.

Over the weekend, the Wolfpack wrestling team captured a fifth straight ACC Championship.
