RALEIGH, N.C. – The 22nd-ranked NC State men's basketball team travels to Chestnut Hill, Mass., Saturday to take on Boston College.

Pack Tracks
- NC State fell for only the second time in its last 10 games when it dropped a 63-50 decision to 22nd-ranked Virginia on Tuesday night.
- The Pack was led by Terquavion Smith with 19 points. It's the 12th time this season and 23rd time in his career the Greenville, N.C., native has led NC State in scoring. Smith is 17 points shy of becoming the 56th player in program history to score 1,000 career points. He has played in 57 career games and has a career scoring average of 17.2 points per game which is the eighth-best career scoring average in program history.
- Casey Morsell added 18 points against his former team on Tuesday night. Morsell was 6-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-9 from three-point range. The 18 points are the most in Morsell's career against an ACC opponent. The Ft. Washington, Md., native is averaging 17.5 points on 60 percent shooting (12-of-20) in the last two games, including 50 percent (8-of-16) from three-point range. Morsell is shooting 44.0 percent from three-point range this season to rank second in the ACC.
- DJ Burns was held to eight points on 4-of-6 shooting against the Cavaliers, snapping a streak of nine consecutive games in double figures. Burns averaged 7.8 points per game in 11 non-conference games, but is averaging 15.1 points per game in 14 ACC games, almost doubling his scoring output from non-conference to league play. In the 10 games NC State has played since the calendar turned to 2023, Burns is averaging 16.1 points per game.
- NC State is ranked 22nd in the Associated Press poll released on Monday, Feb. 6. It's the first time NC State has been ranked in the AP poll since the Jan. 28, 2019 ranking where the Pack was ranked 23rd.

- The Pack's 19-6 record is NC State's best record through 25 games since the 2005-06 team was 20-5.
- Graduate guard Jarkel Joiner has made 31 of his last 32 free throws. For the season, Joiner is shooting 83.0 percent from the foul line and has improved that mark to 88.9% (48-of-54) in ACC games. The Oxford, Miss., native has been even better this season in clutch moments. In the final four minutes of regulation or in overtime, Joiner is shooting 91.3% (42-of-46) from the foul line.
- NC State was held to a season-low two fast break points and tied a season-low with just four points off of turnovers in the loss to Virginia on Tuesday. NC State leads the ACC and ranks 15th in the NCAA in fast break points, averaging 15.3 per game. In the Pack's wins this season it averages almost the double amount of points off turnovers than in losses. In NC State's 19 wins, it averages to turn opponent's turnovers into 18.3 points. In its six losses, it only averages 9.5 points off turnovers.
- Despite committing 12 turnovers on Tuesday, it's second-most in 14 conference games this season, NC State continues to rank in the top-10 nationally in fewest turnovers per game. The Pack averages just 9.8 turnovers per game to rank seventh in NCAA DI. NC State has only committed 44 turnovers in the last six games combined, including a school-tying record (and fewest by an NCAA DI team this season) two vs. Notre Dame on Jan. 24. The Pack leads the ACC in conference games in fewest turnovers per game, averaging just 8.29 per outing.

The Pack is 18-2 this season when it has the same amount or fewer turnovers than its opponent and is 1-4 when it turns the ball over more than its opponent. BC's 13 steals in the game were the most by an NC State opponent in the 2021-22 season.
- Despite not having an individual shot blocker rank in the top-15 in the ACC, the Pack is second as a team in blocked shots, averaging 4.9 per game. NC State has 26 blocks in the last four (6.5 per game), including a season-high 11 in the win over Wake Forest on Jan. 28 which were the most blocks for NC State against an ACC opponent since the 2016-17 season. - Pack's Three-Point Defense has been Stingy: Through 14 ACC games, NC State's opponents have made 73 three-pointers (average of 5.2 per game) and are shooting just 30.4 percent from long-range. Both of those marks are the best in the ACC. The Pack has allowed only three teams in 14 games, to shoot over 33 percent from three-point range. NC State will be facing a Boston College team on Saturday that will come in with confidence from long-range after hitting 12 threes and shooting 50 percent in its win at Virginia Tech on Wednesday night.
- NC State is the only team in the ACC to have three players that rank in the top-15 in minutes played. Jarkel Joiner leads the team and ranks fifth in the ACC with an average of 35.5 minutes played per game. He has played at least 38 minutes in seven of the last eight games. Casey Morsell is 10th in the ACC with an average of 34.4 minutes played and has played at least 35 minutes in 9 of the last 11 games. Terquavion Smith is 14th in the ACC at 34.0 minutes played per game. Smith has played the entirety of the Pack's last two games.
