Seven Honorees in a Single Season is a New Program Record
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Taylor Chism, Maria Echezarreta, Brooklyn Holt, Fernanda Soto, Jaiden Thomas, Annika Wohner and Brianna Weber were named to the 2022 All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
This is the seventh consecutive season the program has had four or more players named to the All-ACC Academic Team. It also marks NC State's most honorees in program history, eclipsing the previous high of six honorees in a single season in both 2016 and 2019.
Echezarreta earns her third distinction in as many years, while Wohner also records her second straight year on the All-ACC Academic Team. Chism, Holt, Soto, Thomas and Weber each earn their first academic honors from the league.
In order to be named to the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 GPA for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during his or her academic career. Athletic achievements, such as playing in 50% of a team's contest during the most recent season, are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team members.
