Pack Women's Basketball Opens Season 50 Tuesday At Home Against Charlotte

RALEIGH – NC State kicks off its 50th season of women's basketball and its 11th under the leadership of head coach Wes Moore on Tuesday night as the Pack welcomes Charlotte to Raleigh.
Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the 49ers is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Kay Yow Court inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. Doors open at 6 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on the ACC Network, and live radio coverage will be available on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh and on the Varsity Network App.

- Be Moore's 801st career win (800-250)
- Be Moore's 243rd win at NC State (242-81)
- Mark the Pack's 53rd consecutive home win over an unranked nonconference opponent
- Be NC State's third home win in a row
- Give the Wolfpack a season-opening victory for the second season in a row and the 10th time in 11 years of the Moore era
SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 8-0)
- Tuesday marks the ninth overall meeting between NC State and Charlotte. The teams met for the first time during the 1978-79 campaign and faced off last season for the first time since Dec. 6, 2015.
- NC State remains unbeaten in its previous eight meetings with Charlotte.
- The Pack has defeated Charlotte by as many as 69 points (112-43 in Nov. 1978) and as few as two points (62-60 in Dec. 1983).
- NC State and Charlotte last faced off last season on Nov. 16, 2022 with the Pack winning that home game by a score of 96-48. The 48-point victory tied as the Wolfpack's largest margin of victory during all of 2022-23.
- The Wolfpack is 3-0 in home games played against the 49ers and 3-0 under Moore's leadership.
SEASON 50
- 2023-24 marks the 50th season of NC State women's basketball, and the program will celebrate its tradition of excellence throughout the upcoming campaign.
- The Wolfpack is encouraging fans to use #PackWBBSeason50 on social media to share past memories and create new ones this year.
- The Pack played its first season as a varsity team in 1974-75. Since then, the program has amassed over 1,000 victories, 42 winning seasons, 9 top-10 final rankings, 28 NCAA Tournament appearances, 15 Sweet 16 berths, 91 All-ACC selections, 5 All-Americans and 37 1,000+ point scorers.
