CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For their performance in the Wolfpack's third consecutive win over UNC and helping NC State to their fifth straight ACC win of the season, quarterback Brennan Armstrong, wide receiver Kevin "KC" Concepcion, and linebacker Payton Wilson have all received ACC Player of the Week Awards the league announced Monday.
Armstrong takes home his second ACC Quarterback of the Week award in consecutive weeks, with Wilson earning his fifth weekly honor at the linebacker position. For the fourth time this season, Concepcion was named ACC Rookie of the Week and Receiver of the Week for the first time in his career.
Concepcion posted his third 100-yard receiving game of the year with 131 yards on 7 catches. The true freshman hauled in a pair of TDs, giving him 10 for the season. His totals in the win made him the only player in the FBS with 750+ receiving yards and 250+ rushing yards this season. He's the first FBS player to do that since 2021 and the first ACC player since 2015.
He ranks second in the ACC in TD receptions with 10 – the top mark in the FBS for a freshman (t14th overall). He was also the Pack's leading rusher in the 39-20 victory, gaining 55 yards on 11 carries. Now ranks third in the ACC in receptions per game (64 total receptions) and ranks second nationally among freshmen.
After not being able to throw in practice all week due to a rib injury, Armstrong led the Wolfpack to 504 yards of total offense in the 39-20 win over UNC. That was the Pack's highest total-offense total in an ACC game since 2018. Passing for a season-high 334 yards, he connected on 71% of his throws (22-31), three touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Armstrong did it with his legs as well, adding another 22 yards on the ground, setting a new NC State single-season record for rushing by a quarterback. His 544 yards on the ground this season break the mark set by Jacoby Brissett in 2014.
Wilson picked up his fifth conference weekly honor of the season, as he led NC State in tackles for the 10th time this season with 15 as the Wolfpack defense held North Carolina to its lowest point total of the season. He also tallied 2.0 tackles-for-loss, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception in the rivalry win.
