Concepcion Named Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Week

SOUTHAMPTON, Pa. – After tallying 134 all-purpose yards, leading the Wolfpack in both receiving and rushing while adding two scores in the win over Clemson, true freshman Kevin "KC" Concepcion has been named the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Week by the Maxwell Football Club, the organization announced Tuesday.
Concepcion had both the longest reception and longest run for the Wolfpack this season, with a 50-yard run setting up his first touchdown of the game, followed by a 72-yard reception for a score.
With six touchdown receptions through his first eight games, Concepcion, who joined the team in January, already has more TD receptions than any true freshman in school history and is tied for the team lead.
The true freshman ranks third of all true freshmen with 5.2 receptions per game. He leads the team in receiving with 42 catches for 493 yards and is second in the ACC and 24th in the FBS in touchdown receptions.
Concepcion is the first true freshman in school history ever to post more than one 100-yard game in a season -and he has two in just eight games.
