Wolfpack Women’s Tennis Racks Up ACC Honors Following Historic 2022 Campaign

Nugroho garners program's first-ever Freshman of the Year designation
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Following a team run to the NCAA Championships quarterfinals and a national title win at the NCAA Doubles Championships, the NC State women's tennis team collected high honors from the Atlantic Coast Conference as the league announced its yearly award winners.
Jaeda Daniel, Priska Nugroho, Abigail Rencheli and Nell Miller were all recognized for their successes during the 2021-22 season.
Nugroho was honored with an annual award as the ACC Freshman of the Year. She became the first player in Wolfpack women's tennis history to claim the honor.
NC State also had a program-record number of all-conference members as Daniel (First Team), Rencheli (Second Team), Nugroho (Second Team) and Nell Miller (Third Team) earned All-ACC status. Each of those women are first time All-ACC honorees. The Pack has had at least two all-conference players for five completed seasons in a row.

- Finished season ranked No. 1 nationally in doubles, the first time in NC State history that members of the Pack have ended the year atop the rankings, and No. 11 nationally in singles
- Defeated 12 ranked opponents in singles action and 19 in doubles action; went perfect 5-0 against fellow duos that ended the year ranked in the top six
- Posted team-leading 34 doubles victories, the fourth-most in a single season by any NC State player
- Reached the finals of the ITA Carolina Regional singles draw in the fall
- 2x ACC Player of the Week during the regular season
- Won the H.C. Kennett Award, the highest athletic honor at NC State

- 2022 singles record: 23-8, 10-3 in ACC play
- 2022 doubles record: 26-4, 10-1 in ACC play
- 5x ACC Freshman of the Week during the regular season, earning weekly honors more than any other player in the league
- Finished season ranked No. 89 nationally in singles; ranked in singles in every poll since April 6
- Led the team in dual wins with 22 in singles and 25 in doubles; accomplished that feat after not joining the Pack until January
- Posted team-leading 10 doubles wins against conference opponents
- Made an appearance in the doubles rankings at No. 89 on April 6
- Defeated five ranked singles opponents and two ranked doubles opponents
Abigail Rencheli • Sophomore • Sarasota, Fla.
- 2022 All-American (singles), the sixth different All-American in team history
- 2022 singles record: 30-17, 9-4 in ACC play
- 2022 doubles record: 20-12, 7-2 in ACC play
- Became the second player in program history to advance to the NCAA Singles Championships quarterfinal
- Finished season ranked No. 34 nationally in singles and No. 22 nationally in doubles; earned career-high singles ranking of No. 24 on Feb. 24
- Defeated team-leading 16 ranked singles opponents, including taking down top-seeded and defending NCAA champion Emma Navarro at the NCAA Championships
- Led team with 30 singles wins to become the seventh player in team history to hit that mark in a single season
- Also made NCAA Doubles Championships debut
Nell Miller • Senior • Kent, England
- 2022 NCAA doubles champion
- 2022 All-American (doubles), the fifth different All-American in team history
- 2022 singles record: 19-10, 6-7 in ACC play
- 2022 doubles record: 27-5, 9-2 in ACC play
- Finished season ranked No. 1 nationally in doubles, the first time in NC State history that members of the Pack have ended the year atop the rankings
- Defeated two ranked opponents in singles action and 14 in doubles action; went perfect 5-0 against fellow duos that ended the year ranked in the top six
- Earned first singles ranking of career at No. 112 on Feb. 23
These women all played key roles in helping the 2022 Wolfpack squad reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships for the second season in a row. NC State tied its program-best final ranking of No. 6 and ended the year with a 26-6 record, with those 26 victories marking the most in a single season in team history.
