TEMPE, Ariz. – NC State women's tennis was once again well-represented in the final ITA Singles and Doubles Rankings of the season as four players were featured in the top 90 in singles and two doubles pairs were ranked in the national top 15 to end the year.
After claiming the 2022 NCAA Doubles Championships title, Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller finished their historic campaign ranked at the top of the national standings. They are the first players in Wolfpack women's tennis history to earn a No. 1 final national ranking. The duo completed their season with a 27-5 record as a pair, defeating 14 nationally-ranked opponents and going a perfect 5-0 against teams that also finished the year ranked in the top six.
Abigail Rencheli and Amelia Rajecki were also featured in the doubles top 25, checking in at No. 22 in the final release. The pair made their first NCAA Doubles Championships appearance this season and spent almost the entirety of the year ranked in the national top 30.
Daniel and Rencheli both also earned spots in the top 35 of the singles rankings, with Daniel maintaining her No. 11 spot and Rencheli moving up to No. 34. Both players had already secured their spots as 2022 All-Americans in singles, with Daniel gaining that status as a top-16 seed in the NCAA Championships draw and Rencheli earning selection with her program record-tying run to the NCAA Championships quarterfinal.
Alana Smith (No. 77) and Priska Nugroho (No. 89) joined them in the final singles rankings. Nugroho amassed an impressive 23 singles wins despite not having played any fall matches, and she spent the final six weeks of her rookie campaign ranked in the national standings in singles.
Those players all played key roles in helping the 2022 NC State women's tennis squad reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships for the second season in a row. The wolfpack tied its program-best final ranking of No. 6 and ended the year with a 26-6 record, with those 26 victories marking the most in a single season in team history.
