RALEIGH – Sophie Hansson of the NC State women's swimming and diving team was named to the 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) organization on Wednesday afternoon.
Hansson earned a spot on the First Team for the second year in a row. She joins fellow senior and captain Eric Knowles on the list, marking the sixth year in a row that NC State swimming and diving has had at least one Academic All-American.
A native of Helsingborg, Sweden, Hansson just completed her degree in business management at NC State. She has been honored on the Academic All-ACC Team and the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team each of her four seasons with the Wolfpack. Hansson was also a recipient of a 2022 ACC Postgraduate Scholarship.

In total, she earned 22 All-America honors and won 11 ACC event titles while at NC State. She won the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke titles at the 2019, 2020 and 2021 ACC Championships and completed her perfect run in the 100-yard event with her win at ACCs in 2022.
