CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – NC State women's tennis players Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller became the first duo in team history to reach the finals of the NCAA Doubles Championship after winning their semifinal match on Friday evening.
The top-seeded pair in the field, Daniel and Miller beat out 42nd-ranked Janice Tjen and Savannah Broadus of Pepperdine. They won the match by a 7-5, 6-4 score to improve to 26-5 on the season and advance.

Prior to their win, no members of the Pack had ever reached the championship match in doubles or singles action at the national tournament. Daniel and Miller became the second Wolfpack duo in as many seasons to reach the semifinal before marking history and punching their ticket to the final.
After going up a break in the first game, Daniel and Miller played with a lead for nearly the entirety of the first set. Pepperdine broke back on deciding point to make it 5-5, but the Pack immediately returned the favor and then held on deuce point to close out the first set.
It was another story in the second set, as Pepperdine's duo jumped out to a 4-1 lead. Daniel and Miller remained unphased and won the last five games of the match to close out the win.
Daniel and Miller will take on 13th-ranked Daevenia Achong and Eden Richardson from Miami in the national title match on Saturday. The contest is set to start following the conclusion of the singles championship matches, which are set to begin at 12 p.m. EST.
