
Rifle Wraps Up GARC Championships

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The NC State rifle team wrapped up competition in the 2021-22 season at the Great American Rifle Conference Championships firing a 2358 air rifle score on Saturday inside of Tronsrue Marksmanship Center held at Army.
With the 2358 air rifle score, the Wolfpack finished with a 4667 aggregate score. Kentucky won the 2021 GARC Championship, beating second-place West Virginia by three points with an aggregate score of 4735.
Travis Stockton, Ben Salas and Addy Burrow all tied to lead the Pack with an air rifle total of 590 apiece. Both Aliya Butt and Katie Tedeschi followed behind with a 588 mark to round out the scoring for NC State.
John Peterson had an outstanding performance at the GARC Championships as he set his career high in air rifle, firing a 589 to give him a career-best aggregate score of 1170. Peterson paced all Pack shooters with his aggregate score.
Salas followed behind Peterson as he posted an 1167 aggregate score while Burrow racked up an aggregate total of 1166.
SMALLBORE RECAP (DAY ONE)
NC State rifle finished day one of the Great American Rifle Conference Championships with a 2309 smallbore score on Friday.
Leading the charge for NC State was John Peterson who tied his career high as he fired a 581. Ben Salas followed behind with a 577, just one point higher than Addy Burrow (576).
Rounding out the scoring for NC State was Katie Tedeschi who shot a 575. Aliya Butt shot smallbore at the Championships as well, firing a 573.
Due to spacing limitations, Lauren Crossley shot both smallbore and air rifle in the first day of action compiling an aggregate score of 1154 with a 567 smallbore and a 587 air rifle total. Her 587 in air rifle tied her career best that she set at the NCAA Qualifiers on Feb. 19.
Additionally, Sam Burrow shot air rifle and fired a 584.
