
No. 11 Pack Rifle Falls at No. 5 West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 11 NC State rifle team dropped its fall season finale 4,751-4,687 to No. 5 West Virginia at the WVU Rifle Range.
For the third straight match, NC State has again eclipsed its previous team aggregate score record of 4,678 entering the 2022-23 season. The Wolfpack tied for its sixth-highest air rifle score in program history with a 2,364, while the Pack's smallbore tally of 2,323 also now ranks sixth in program history.
Ben Salas (1,179) and Katie Tedeschi (1,174) again paced the Pack in aggregate scoring. Salas' score of 596 finished just one point shy of a personal best, while Tedeschi's smallbore mark of 582 finished just two points shy of a personal best.
Overall, Salas (583), Tedeschi (582) and Kendall Goebel (582) paced the Pack in smallbore. In air rifle, Salas (596), Tedeschi (592) and Lauren Crossley (592) ranked in the top three for Pack counters in the discipline.
Crossley's air rifle score of 592 marked a new personal best, topping a previous of 591 set against Akron earlier this season.
The No. 5 Mountaineers finished Friday's match with an aggregate tally of 4,751, recording a score of 2,365 in smallbore and 2,386 in air rifle to register the GARC victory. West Virginia's aggregate and smallbore scores on Friday both were program records.
