Doeren Named Dodd Trophy National Coach of the Week

RALEIGH, N.C. -Â The Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and Peach Bowl, Inc. have announced that Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren has been selected as The Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week presented by PNC.

The award honors a coach who led his team to a significant victory, while also embodying the award's three pillars of scholarship, leadership and integrity.

Doeren's Wolfpack defeated No. 9 Clemson in double overtime.

In his ninth season leading NC State's football program, Doeren is the second winningest coach in school history.
"This was a significant home victory for NC State that now puts the Wolfpack in contention for an ACC Atlantic division title," said Jim Terry, chairman of the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation. "Coach Dodd would have appreciated the way coach Doeren kept his team focused in overtime after the missed field goal attempt. His team refused to lose that game."
