Men's Tennis Garners ITA Academic Accolades

TEMPE, Ariz. - For the second consectuve season the NC State men's tennis program has been named an ITA All-Academic Team, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Monday. In addition to its second-straight team honor, seven members of the squad tabbed ITA Scholar-Athlete laurels.
Senior Collin Shick tabbed the Scholar-Athlete honors for the fourth-straight season while graduated senior Tristan Smith earned the accolades for the second consecutive year. Yannai Barkai, Robin Catry, Rafa Izquierdo Luque, Martins Rocens and Braden Shick each received the honors for the first time in their careers.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year. In order to garner All-Academic Team honors, a squad have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
