RALEIGH – For the second-straight time and the second time in school history, the No. 6 NC State women's tennis team secured a berth in the NCAA Championships Sweet 16, defeating No. 36 Iowa State 4-2 in the second round on Saturday afternoon.
NC State claimed the doubles point in what was the first-ever meeting between the Wolfpack and the Cyclones. It marked the fifth-straight match during which the Pack has headed into singles action with the 1-0 advantage. Fifth-ranked Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami took advantage of an early break and easily defeated Miska Kadleckova and Sofia Cabezas by a 6-2 tally.
Twelfth-ranked Anna Rogers and Alana Smith went down a break to start on court one, as did Amelia Rajecki and Abigail Rencheli on court three. Both pairs immediately broke back to find their footing, and it was Rogers and Smith who clinched with the 6-4 decision over Thasaporn Naklo and Christin Hsieh.

The Cyclones inched closer with a straight-sets victory on court three, and the attention turned to Daniel and Lexi Keberle on courts four and six. Both Wolfpack players won their first sets, and it was Daniel who was able to take her second set and secure the team victory for the Pack.
She faced a 3-5 deficit and was down 0-40 before surging to an incredible second-set comeback over Hsieh. Daniel won the last four games of the match to close out the 6-4, 7-5 victory and to put the team score at 4-2 in the Pack's favor.
