LAKE NONA, Fla. – Wolfpack women's tennis duo Anna Rogers and Alana Smith advanced to the semifinal round of the NCAA Doubles Championships with a 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory over Elysia Bolton and Jada Hart (UCLA) in the quarterfinals on Wednesday night.
The accomplishment adds to an already-historic season for the NC State squad, as the pair became the first in team history to reach the semifinals. In 2019, they reached the quarterfinal round for what was then the deepest doubles run.

After gutting out the tiebreaker in the first set, Rogers and Smith went up a break early in the second set to put themselves in prime position to close out the straight-sets victory. They moved to 26-9 on the season as a pair, and the victory against the 59th-ranked Bruin pair was their 10th over a ranked foe in 2021.
Rogers also wrapped up action in the NCAA Singles Championships after making a deeper run in the bracket than any player in program history. Prior to this season, no NC State women's tennis player had advanced past the second round.
The sixth-ranked super senior fell 6-2, 6-3 to 17th-ranked Janice Tjen of Oregon. On the season, Rogers posted a 22-11 singles record, which pushed her career record to 116-68. Her 116 career singles victories rank second in program history behind fellow fifth-year senior Adriana Reami.
