LAKE NONA, Fla. – After another solid day of action at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships on Tuesday, NC State women's tennis will have representation in the quarterfinals of both brackets on Wednesday.
Anna Rogers advanced to Wednesday's quarterfinals in the singles bracket, and she and Alana Smith booked their spot as one of the last eight doubles pairs standing.
Rogers kicked off the Pack's day by beating No. 26 Bunyawi Thamchaiwat of Oklahoma State by a 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 score to continue her program-best run in the singles bracket. The victory was her 22nd of the season (22-10), her fourth over a top-30 opponent this season and the 117th of her career (117-67).
See you in the QUARTERFINALS.

Her match with Thamchaiwat was a tightly-contested, back-and-forth battle between a pair of worthy top-30 upperclassmen. The Oklahoma State junior took the first set, but Rogers bounced back and earned the final of seven combined breaks in the second set to force a third.
The script flipped in that frame, with Rogers being the one who took an early two-game advantage with a hold and a break. She rode that lead for the rest of the set to secure advancement to the next round.
Rogers then teamed up with Smith for the doubles victory. The pair secured status as doubles All-Americans for the third season in a row after becoming the program's first honorees in 2019.

Rogers and Smith came back from a set down to force a tiebreaker for the third set, and they ended up defeating ninth-ranked Chloe Beck and Karolina Berankova 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 1-0 (10-7).
Adriana Reami and Jaeda Daniel were also in action in the doubles round of 16. After already garnering All-American status with their seeding, the fifth-ranked Wolfpack duo fell to No. 20 Jayci Goldsmith and Tatiana Makarova (Texas A&M) by a 6-2, 6-3 score.
The pair ended the 2021 campaign with a 25-6 record as a pair, and it also marked the finale to an incredible five-year career by Reami. The Miami, Fla., native leaves NC State as the program's winningest singles player (127 wins) and ranks second in team history in doubles victories (94).
