Doeren Named to Dodd Trophy Midseason List

Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren has been named to the midseason watch list for the 2021 Dodd Trophy. College football's most coveted coaching award, the Dodd Trophy celebrates the head coach of a team who enjoys success on the gridiron, while also stressing the importance of scholarship, leadership and integrity – the three pillars of legendary coach Bobby Dodd's philosophy.

Doeren, now in his ninth year at NC State, has led his team to a 5-1 mark to open the season and has the Wolfpack ranked No. 18 in the AP poll heading to Miami. The Wolfpack has fielded one of the nation's top defensive units in 2021.

One of 16 coaches named to the midseason list, Doeren currently ranks second in school history in career coaching wins at NC State.

The midseason watch list was created through a selection process by the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and Peach Bowl, Inc., taking into consideration each program's current performance during the 2021 season, Academic Progress Rate (APR), and each coach's commitment to service and charity in the community.
