Person and Ekwonu helped Pack offense to 45 points in opener

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State's Ricky Person, Jr. was named the ACC Running Back of the Week and offensive guard Ikem Ekwonu was named the ACC co-Offensive Lineman of the Week for their performances in the season opening win against Wake Forest.

In the 45-42 season opening win, Person led the Pack in all-purpose yards with 133, including a team-best 99 rushing yards. He ran for two scores, in addition to throwing a two-yard TD pass himself.

Person was also selected to this week's Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll.

After starting at tackle last season, Ekwonu notched his first career start at guard. The sophomore was in for 56 plays, and registered four pancake blocks. He helped the Pack's offense to 270 yards on the ground.
