Player Q&A: Hartley Myers

Entering her first season with the Wolfpack, freshman Hartley Myers was an AVCA Under Armour High School All-American her senior season, in addition to being ranked #80 by PrepVolleyball in her recruiting class. Q: What made you pick NC State?
I loved the campus and really loved how close and supportive the team was

Q: How old where you when you started playing volleyball?
I was 12 when I started playing. I started because a bunch of my friends were trying a camp and I tried it with them and discovered I really liked the sport.

Q: What is your favorite memory (so far) at NC State?
My favorite memory is definitely the summer camp last year where I was able to meet a bunch of the 2021 commits and play with them.

Q: Do you have any hidden talents?
Yes! I can do a front flip on the trampoline!

Q: What is your major and dream career?
I'm still undecided, but I want to be a biology major. My dream job would have to be a physical therapist.

Q: What are some of your goals for the 2020 season?
My main goal is to connect with my teammates on a personal level and on the court.

Q: Who or what has been your biggest influence?
My biggest influence has been my dad, because he has always pushed me to be my best and always believed in me.

Q: Is there any significance behind your jersey number?
So funny story – my favorite number has always been 2 but in high school that number wasn't available so I got the number that the digits both added up to 2 and have had the number 11 ever since.

Q: What do you like to do when you're not on the court?
Well during the school year I do a lot of academic work, and outside of those two things I like to hang out with family and friends and explore campus!
