Landrus Named EAGL Head Coach of the Year

DURHAM, N.H. - NC State gymnastics head coach Kim Landrus has been named East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Head Coach of the Year, as announced by the league office on Friday. Landrus has previously attained the honor once as she was named EAGL Co-Head Coach of the Year in 2019.

In her third year at the helm of the NC State program, she led the squad to a share of the first-ever EAGL Regular Season Championship. During the season, the squad posted five team scores higher than a 196.000 and concluded its year with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 196.130. NC State was the only team in the EAGL with an NQS above 196.000 and sat atop the league standings in NQS, average and high.Â
Landrus led the Wolfpack to a league-leading 19 All-EAGL laurels. 12 were First Team All-EAGL honors, the most in the league, and seven were Second Team All-EAGL accolades, tied for the most in the league.
NC State checked in at first place in the league standings on bars, beam and floor in NQS, average and high. The team was the only EAGL team with a bars NQS above 49.000 during its 2020 campaign. In the Road to Nationals rankings, the Wolfpack concluded action at No. 23 nationally. The squad finished at No. 25 in the nation on bars and beam and No. 23 on floor.
