
#5 NC State Sweeps #40 Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The No. 5 NC State women's tennis team picked up its fourth conference win of the season with a 7-0 sweep of No. 40 Virginia Tech. With the win, NC State moves to 17-3, and Virginia Tech falls to 7-6 for the Pack's fourth 7-0 score of the season.
In doubles, the Pack jumped out to early leads on courts two and three, and second-ranked Anna Rogers and Alana Smith charged back down 3-0 to even the match at three-all on court one.
No. 21 Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami struck first on court two with a fast 6-1 victory over Shene Disbergen and Natalie Novotna as the two remaining matches were both in NC State's favor at 4-3.
Liz Norman and Lana Mavor closed out the double point with a 6-4 win against Erika Cheng and Chhinda Som to give NC State the 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.
NC State took five of the six first sets, and No. 101 Norman claimed a 6-0, 6-1 decision against Lily Hackbirth on court six to extend the Pack's lead to 2-0. No. 32 Rogers and No. 22 Smith took home straight-set victories in that order to seal the team's fourth conference win. Rogers' win marked her seventh consecutive singles win, good for the team's current best win streak.
Daniel and Lexi Keberle continued the straight-set victory trend to put the squad up 6-0, followed No. 37 Reami completing the sweep with a 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (5) win on court three.
