
Pack Falls to No. 6 Louisville

C.J. Bryce leads the Pack with 15 points
RALEIGH, NC – The NC State men's basketball fell to sixth-ranked Louisville, 77-57, Saturday afternoon inside PNC Arena.
With the loss, NC State falls to 14-8, 5-6 in the ACC while Louisville improves to 19-3, 10-1 in the ACC.
Senior guard C.J. Bryce led the Pack with 15 points while Devon Daniels added 12 points and D.J. Funderburk finished with 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Markell Johnson tied his career-high with four steals.
The Pack trailed by 17 points after Louisville scored the first basket of the second half, but NC State battled back as the Pack went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead into single digits. After a three-pointer put the Cards back in front 46-34, NC State went a 9-2 streak to cut the deficit to five, 48-43, with 14:34 remaining.
Louisville stretched the lead back out to 56-45 with 12:44 to go, but the Pack had one final push in it as a 7-0 run cut the Cards' lead to 56-52 with 11:13 remaining.
NC State could get no closer though as the Pack only made two field goals the rest of the game and did not score a point in the final 5:46 of the game.
Louisville was led by Ryan McMahon who came off-the-bench to score 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 7-of-10 from three-point range. Jordan Nwora added 14 points and Lamarr Kimble finished with 10 points.
Louisville's bench outscored NC State's bench, 43-5.
The first 13 minutes of the first half were a back-and-forth affair as there were seven ties and five lead changes The Pack took a 21-19 lead after a Funderburk jumper with 6:53 left in the first half, but Louisville responded with a 22-3 run over the next six minutes as McMahon hit six three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes.
NC State returns to action Wednesday when it plays at Miami. The game will be televised on ACC Network with tipoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
