GREENSBORO, N.C. – After helping lead NC State to back-to-back sweeps over Virginia Tech, Jade Parchment earned ACC Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Parchment averaged 5.17 kills per set and 3.33 digs per set on a .441 hitting percentage in a pair of 3-0 wins. The Kensington, Md. native opened the weekend with a 16 kill performance and .469 hitting percentage in Thursday's match where she also contributed seven digs and two blocks. Parchment followed that up with her 18th career double-double on Friday thanks to 15 kills and 13 digs.
NC State became the only team this season to win two matches against the Hokies and the only squad to sweep Virginia Tech. Additionally, thanks to the assist of Parchment, the Pack finishes the fall portion of its schedule with four-straight wins and nine-consecutive set wins.
Parchment moved into the rally-scoring era career kills top-10 list at NC State on Oct. 30 with 709 career kills midway through her junior season. She currently ranks fourth in the ACC and 16th nationally with 4.21 kills per set.
Parchment is the first NC State player to receive a weekly Player of the Week honor since Julia Brown on Nov. 13, 2017.
