RALEIGH - NC State women's soccer alumna Taylor Porter (2015-18) has signed with UDG Tenerife Egatesa, a Spanish first-division team based in Granadilla de Abona, in the Canary Islands. Porter signed during the winter signing period, and her contract runs through June 2021.
She is able to compete with UDG Tenerife DKV immediately after the January 1 transfer window is complete.
Porter, a native of San Diego, Calif., previously played for ZFK Spartak Subotica in Serbia and the NWSL's Orlando Pride. Known for her tireless and constant work without the ball, Porter is a midfielder of containment in addition to having a good dribble and long-distance shooting.
She combines strength, skill in possession and excellent technique, which makes her a player capable of generating offensive actions.
"Taylor was spotted by Tenerife in her Champions League games versus Atletico Madrid this past fall," said head coach Tim Santoro. "She just kept getting better and better every year at NC State and is still doing so as a professional.
"We take players at NC State who have talent, not a resume, and they actually improve and develop here if they put in the work. They're prepared for the next level and what Taylor is doing is what we saw every day, for four years, in Raleigh. I'm proud of her and not surprised at all."
Porter started 85 matches, tallied six goals and five assists and logged 7,120 minutes at NC State. She was a part of the Wolfpack's three consecutive NCAA Tournament berths from 2016-18, which included a pair of Sweet 16 appearances.
