TEMPE, Ariz. -- Two individuals from the NC State women's tennis team were featured in the final Oracle/ITA Division I Rankings of the season, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Wednesday.
Â
Anna Rogers checks in at No. 13, the highest final singles ranking in program history, and Alana Smith checks in at No. 69. In doubles, Rogers and Smith finish at No. 4, the program's all-time highest doubles ranking.
Â
The announcements marks the first time the Pack has had consecutive seasons with two singles players in the final rankings.
Â
As previously announced with the pair's designation as a top-eight seed in the NCAA Doubles Championships draw and with Rogers's top-16 seed in the NCAA Singles Championships bracket, Rogers and Smith became the program's first players to gain status as All-Americans. Rogers garnered All-America honors in both singles and doubles with Smith joining her as a doubles honoree.
Â
Rogers, ranked 13th, reached a program-high ranking of No. 8 in singles earlier this season, boasting a 31-15 overall record, including a 20-8 singles dual record on court one. Tallying 18 ranked singles wins in the 2019 campaign, she claimed her highest-ranked victory against the second-ranked 2019 NCAA Singles Champion Estela Perez-Somarriba (Miami) in three sets as the Pack stormed past the Hurricanes, 6-1, for the program's first win over Miami (Fla.). She won 11 of her 18 ranked victories in straight sets.
Â
With an impressive 11-match winning streak that spanned the entire month of March, the First Team All-ACC selection won six ranked matchups during the stretch.
Â
After being tabbed at No. 66 in the preseason rankings, the Stamford, Conn., native never wavered outside the top 31 and spent four consecutive weeks in the top 10.
A top-16 seed in the NCAA Singles Championship automatically qualified Rogers as an All-American, as she defeated top-60 opponent Emma Antonaki (Mississippi State) in the opening round of the tournament to become the third NC State player to advance to the second round of the championship.
Rogers defeated 15 opponents that landed in the final rankings.
Â
Smith rounded out her freshman campaign at No. 69. Competing on court two in every dual match she played in, the all-conference performer compiled a 32-13 record. Her .711 singles winning percentage ranks first in the NC State record books.
Â
The Fort Washington, Md., native was named ACC Freshman of the Week five times. Her highest ranked singles win of the season came against No. 10 Marta Gonzalez (Georgia).
Â
Smith's No. 68 singles ranking in 2019 was the highest of her young career.
Â
She defeated six opponents that ended the 2019 spring season in the final rankings.
 Â
In doubles, Smith accompanies Rogers in All-American status. The duo continued to make history, advancing to the program's first Elite Eight to end the season with a 35-6 mark together.
Â
The pair played together on court one this season as they put together a historic run. Smith's 37 doubles wins are the most in a season in program history, followed closely behind by Rogers, who collected 36 wins in both 2017 and 2019.
Â
The Pack's court one doubles tandem collected 15 wins over opponents in the final doubles rankings.
Â
Rogers and Smith stand atop the NC State record books with 101 career doubles wins and a .860 doubles winning percentage, respectively.
