TEMPE, Ariz. – For the fourth week in a row and the sixth week this season, the NC State men's tennis team is ranked in the national top 25 as it was tabbed No. 20 in the latest release of the Oracle/ITA Division I rankings. The No. 20 designation is the Wolfpack's highest ranking of the season.
The Pack finished the regular season with a 17-9 overall record and an 8-4 clip in ACC play. The eight wins in conference play marked the most league wins in a single season in program history. NC State took down six nationally-ranked opponents during the regular season and spent nine weeks of the season ranked in the top 30 of the national standings.
The Wolfpack earned a double bye in the 2019 ACC Championships draw as one of the top four teams in the conference, marking the first time since 2013 that NC State earned a top-four seed in the tournament.
Alexis Galarneau found himself ranked in the top 25 of the singles standings for the fifth set of rankings in a row. He checks in at No. 21 after putting together a 15-7 regular-season record on the top singles court for the Pack. Seven of his wins on the season were against ranked opponents.
Galarneau and Michael Ogden continued to rise in the doubles rankings as the duo was tabbed No. 42 as it heads into postseason action.
NC State's season continues as it competes at the 2019 ACC Championships this weekend. The team will begin its tournament run in the quarterfinals as it faces the winner of the second-round match between Miami and either Clemson or Boston College on Friday morning at 9 a.m.
