RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State head football coach Dave Doeren has announced two changes to the Wolfpack Football operational staff. Adam Clark, who has spent the past two seasons at Nebraska, has been named Assistant Athletics Director and Football Chief of Staff, while Pete Roley, who has been on the Wolfpack staff in various roles since 2013, has been promoted to Director of Football Operations.
The duo will oversee all internal and external operations for the football program.
Clark has served as the Huskers' Director of Football Operations since 2017, overseeing the day-to-day operations for football and serving as liaison with other departments.
"This is a very important role and I'm excited to have someone with Adam's experience," said Doeren. "He comes to us with incredible recommendations from former employers and I know that he's going to do a great job for us."
Clark came to Nebraska after spending six years at the University of Minnesota. He joined the Minnesota staff in 2011, working for coaches Jerry Kill and Tracy Claeys during his time with the Gophers. From 2014 to 2016, Clark was Minnesota's Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations, and oversaw the day-to-day operations of the department, including team travel.
Clark first joined Kill's staff as Minnesota's Director of Player Personnel from 2011-12 and was the Gophers Assistant Athletic Director for Football in 2013.
Prior to working on the Minnesota staff, Clark was the Director for Football Operations at Northern Illinois for three seasons, eventually being promoted to the title of Assistant Athletic Director.
Clark began his career in 2005 at Texas A&M, where he served as a football operations assistant through 2007.
Clark holds a bachelor's degree from Pittsburg (Kan.) State, where he played baseball for two seasons before graduating in 2004. He is married to the former Vanessa Kermashek.
Roley is no stranger to NC State, as he has served as Associate Director of Football Operations for Wolfpack football since the spring of 2015. He came to NC State with Doeren as Director of Social Media & Recruiting Marketing in January of 2013.
"I'm very happy for Pete to gain more responsibility," Doeren continued. "He has done an incredible job in every role he's been given and I know he and Adam will work well together."
Roley had served as the Assistant Director of Football Operations under Doeren at Northern Illinois from 2011-13, and prior to that spent a season at NIU under Coach Jerry Kill handling all of the staff's video needs.
A 2008 graduate of Western Illinois University, Roley was the back-up quarterback for the Leathernecks. He earned his undergraduate degree in finance and spent a short time playing for the St. Louis Rage of the Arena Football League.
Roley coached the tight ends and worked on the ops staff at his alma mater while pursuing his Master's degree in sports management.
The Aurora, Illinois, native and his wife, the former Anna Harkness have two sons, Mason James (3) and Colton Paul (1).
