
No. 12 NC State Downs Virginia Tech for Seventh Straight Win

The Pack defeated the Hokies 5-2 on Sunday
RALEIGH - The No. 12 NC State women's tennis team defeated Virginia Tech in a 5-2 victory on Sunday at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. With the win, the Wolfpack moves to 17-3 (7-1) on the season and the Hokies drop to 7-11 (1-8).
Sunday's victory marks the Pack's seventh straight win.
Anna Rogers and Claudia Wiktorin began doubles play with a victory, defeating Sarah Baron and Natalie Novtona 6-2. The Wolfpack was unable to clinch the doubles point for the first time in four matches as Virginia Tech took the remaining two courts.
In singles, the Wolfpack got off to a strong start, winning five of six first sets. No. 31 Rogers was the first to finish her match, winning 6-1, 3-1 as Natalie Novotna retired.
The next two matches finished in rapid succession. Amanda Rebol was victorious over Shene Disbergen 6-0, 6-3 and was followed by Liz Norman's 6-3, 6-2 win over Nina Sorkin.
No. 116 Adriana Reami clinched the match for the Wolfpack, defeating Elizabet Danailova in a 6-2, 6-4 decision.
70th-ranked Alana Smith rounded out the match for NC State with a 6-2, 6-7 (5), 1-0 (3) win over Nika Kozar.
