KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lulu Guttenberger and Tziarra King of the NC State women's soccer team collected more national honors from United Soccer Coaches and TopDrawerSoccer this week.
Guttenberger was named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region Third Team, while King earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America and TopDrawerSoccer Best XI Second Team accolades.
King was also named the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region First Team in order to be in consideration for the scholar All-America team.
This is Guttenberger's second award from United Soccer Coaches this year, as she was recently tabbed to the all-region third team. She was also an All-ACC selection after starting all 23 matches of the season at center back. The Germany native scored four goals and tallied five assists to finish third on the team with a combined 13 points.
For King, this is the second scholar all-region award from United Soccer Coaches and third TopDrawerSoccer Best XI Team award of her career. She becomes the first player in program history to collect scholar All-America honors from multiple publications, as she was also recently named an Academic All-American by CoSIDA.
She was also named an All-American by United Soccer Coaches this month, the program's first in 24 years, and collected All-ACC and all-region awards for the fourth consecutive year.
The Sicklerville, N.J. native wrapped up her career with 88 starts, 48 goals and 115 points, and ranks third all-time in the Wolfpack record books in all three categories. She remained among the top three in the ACC and top 35 in the NCAA this season in goals (13) and points (32) en route to becoming the second four-time All-ACC selection in the history of the program behind Staples Bryan (1992-95).
King will graduate this month with a 4.00 grade-point average and nutrition science degree, and Guttenberger currently owns a 3.918 cumulative GPA and is a business administration major.
