Smith Takes Down Top-10 Opponent, Advances to ITA All-American Championships Singles Round of 16 with Rogers

The Sophomore Collected the Highest-Ranked Singles Victory of her Career
TULSA, Okla. – Alana Smith's victory over ninth-ranked Jada Hart (UCLA) in straight sets highlighted the NC State women's tennis team's performance at the ITA Women's All-American Championships on Thursday.
The win marked the highest-ranked singles victory of the sophomore's career and improved her record in the category this season to 4-0.
No. 8 Anna Rogers advanced to the round of 16 along with Smith thanks to a three-set battle over Anastasia Smirnova (Rice).
Top-ranked doubles duo Rogers and Smith dominated the first round of main draw doubles with an 8-2 victory over Marina Davtyan and Shura Poppe (Tulsa) before dropping an 8-6 decision to Vanderbilt's Georgia Drummy and Christina Rosca, marking the duo's first loss of the season.
Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami also fell in a tight match, 8-7 (4), to Lenka Antonijevic and Yuliya Kizelbasheva (DePaul) in the opening round of the main draw. The duo recovered with an impressive 8-5 win over Old Dominion's 27th-ranked Holly Hutchinson and Brooke Pilkington to tally their second ranked win of the season.
