Finley a Semifinalist for Campbell Trophy

NFF award honors nation’s top student-athlete
RALEIGH, N.C. - Graduate student Ryan Finley has been named a semifinalist for the 2018 William V. Campbell Trophy®.  Presented annually by the National Football Foundation, the Campbell Trophy recognizes the country's top student-athlete based on academic success, football performance and exemplary community leadership.

Finalists for the award, who will be announced by the NFF on Oct. 31, will each will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 60th NFF Scholar-Athlete Class. One of the finalists will be named the winner of The William V. Campbell Trophy® during the 61st NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 4 in New York City, and his postgraduate scholarship will be increased to $25,000.

Finley is the only player in the FBS who has already earned a master's degree and he has also earned a second postgraduate degree and is working towards a third. A two-time Academic All-ACC performer, the Phoenix, Az., native currently leads the ACC and ranks fourth in the FBS in passing yards per game and is the league leader and ranks fifth in the FBS in total offense.

A team captain for 2018, Finley has also been named to the preseason watch lists for the Maxwell Trophy, the Davey O'Brien Award and the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.
