Holsopple Announces Wolfpack Rifle 2018-19 Match Schedule

Schedule set for the first year of the Holsopple Era of NC State Rifle
RALEIGH, N.C. – First-year NC State rifle head coach Emily Holsopple announced the Wolfpack's schedule for the 2018-19 season on Wednesday.Â

"We're very excited about our upcoming season and the challenges it poses," said Holsopple. "The team has been hard at work getting ready for this season. I'm really looking forward to seeing what all they are capable of achieving."

For the second consecutive season, the Wolfpack will open the year in Charleston, S.C., at The Citadel on Oct. 6. NC State will take on Akron in its first Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) match of the season in Annapolis, Md., at Navy's Rifle Range.

The Pack will travel to Memphis and Ole Miss for a pair of conference matches on October 27 and 28, respectively. NC State opens the month of November with a trip to Lexington, Ky., the alma mater of Wolfpack head coach Holsopple, where she was an eight-time All-American. The Wolfpack will compete against Army on Nov. 9 and the defending National Champion Wildcats on Nov. 10.

A trip to Morgantown, W. Va., wraps up the dual match portion of the fall schedule, as the Pack travels to West Virginia on Nov. 17.Â

NC State will take part in the Winter Airgun Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo., from December 1-2.

The Wolfpack opens the 2019 calendar slate by traveling to Lincoln, Neb., for matches with Navy and Nebraska, Jan. 19-20. NCSU makes a return trip to The Citadel on Feb. 2 before its NCAA Qualifier Match at West Virginia on Feb. 16.

Akron will host this season's GARC Championships on Feb. 23-24 inside the Louis and Freda Stile Athletics Field House. The NCAA Championships will be hosted by West Virginia on March 8-9 at the WVU Coliseum.

NC State finished the 2017-18 season with an 11-7 overall record and ranked 15thin the final polls. The Wolfpack looks to build on last season to improve its national ranking in hopes of advancing to the NCAA Championships during the 2018-19 competition season.
