RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State starting QB Ryan Finley has been added to another preseason watch list, as he was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List. Last year, Finley was a finalist for the award which has been presented annually since 1987 to the nation's top college quarterback.
Â
This preseason, Finley has also been named to the Davey O'Brien National QB and the Maxwell Award watch lists, in addition to The Walter Camp Football Foundation "players to watch" list for its 2018 Player of the Year award.
Â
Candidates must be a college senior or fourth-year junior on schedule to graduate with their class. Criteria to be considered for the award include character, citizenship, scholastic achievement, leadership qualities and athletic accomplishments.
Â
Finley returns for this third season as the Wolfpack's starting QB. After 26 games at NC State, ranks fifth in school history in career passing yards (6,577), fifth in completions (555), fifth in attempts (881) and seventh in touchdown passes (35). His career mark of .630 ranks second in school history only to Philip Rivers.
Â
Last season, he ranked 10th in the Power 5 and second in the ACC in passing yards with 3,518 - the fourth-best single-season mark in school history.
