Overbey Named To All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Recent graduate Cecily Overbey of the NC State women's golf team was named to the 2018 All-ACC Academic Team on Thursday morning, as released by the league office.
This is the second consecutive year the High Point, N.C., native has been named to the team for her success in the classroom.
She graduated in May with a degree in business administration, and is currently pursuing a professional golf career. She completed her final semester with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average, and compiled a 3.85 GPA over her four years at NC State.
Overbey finished her collegiate career with a 77.80 stroke average, and became the 10th person in program history to reach 100 career rounds on May 10 at the NCAA San Francisco Regional. She played in all 11 tournaments during the 2017-18 season and posted a pair of top 20 individual finishes.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
