QB Cornwell to Play for USA Football in China

R-Sr. will play in 2018 FISU World University Championships June 14-24

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State redshirt-senior QB Woody Cornwell will travel to Harbin, China and take part in the 2018 FISU World University American Football Championship June 14-24.

The World University American Football Championship is an international college American football competition sponsored by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and sanctioned by the International Federation of American Football (IFAF).

This summer marks the third time the event has taken place. In 2014, Sweden hosted the Championship and in 2016 it was held in Mexico.

The overall Summer Universiade is an international university sports and cultural event that is staged every two years in a different city. Embracing the FISU motto of 'Today's Stars, Tomorrow's Leaders,' the Summer Universiade incorporates educational and cultural aspects, encouraging student-athletes from around the world to combine high sports performance with their intellectual pursuits.
