
NC State to Play Michigan State and George Washington at 2018 Cancun Challenge

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The NC State women's basketball team will compete against two programs coming off 2018 postseason appearances in a non-conference tournament this November, as Triple Crown Sports announced recently that the Wolfpack will play Michigan State and George Washington in the 2018 Cancun Challenge at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.

NC State will play Michigan State on Thursday, Nov. 22 at 6:30 pm (ET) before concluding tournament play against George Washington on Friday, Nov. 23 at 4 pm (ET).

Michigan State posted a 19-14 record and advanced to the third round of the 2018 Postseason WNIT last season. George Washington also went 19-14 last season and qualified for the NCAA Tournament before losing to Ohio State in the first round.

NC State concluded the 2017-18 season ranked 16th in the final USA Today Coaches Poll, marking the third time under head coach Wes Moore that the program has finished a season ranked within the top 17. The Wolfpack won two games in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2007.

The Wolfpack is 0-2 in the all-time series against Michigan State but holds an 8-3 advantage in the series against George Washington.

All games will be played in the modified ballroom of the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in a setting where teams and fans can walk from their rooms to the games.
