From the Coach
"I'm so incredibly proud of these ladies coming away with a top-20 finish," said head coach Braden Holloway. "It's been a year full of roller-coasters, ups and downs with sickness and injuries. Things that were not in our control and through the entire season these women fought hard, battled back and new ladies emerged as leaders, new ladies emerged as players and we walked away this season accomplishing a lot of great things. I couldn't have been more proud of the way they competed this weekend, sure there were ups and downs, things that went our way and things that didn't but they kept fighting and we walked away accomplishing some great things; some school records in multiple events. Probably the highlight for our team this weekend was having three ladies score in the mile on the last day, those miles were fantastic. Hats off to Coach Gary Taylor for getting those ladies ready to perform at the highest level. Walking away with three ladies scoring in that mile event is something that if we've done it, it's been decades but since we've been here it hasn't been done. We scored 30 points in that one event which was huge. There were a lot of ladies that came here and performed and obviously you look at the ones who scored points first but there were a lot of ladies who contributed to this team by their performances and coming here; just matching their times and a lot of them bettering their times. That was a big thing to accomplish at this meet, where so many people don't do that because its so hard to get here. Really proud of these ladies, top-20 finish and we look forward to re-setting, focusing on our summer goals and continuing to move this program forward."
