From the Coaches
Head Coach Braden Holloway
"We had fun tonight," said Holloway. "It was a great night, our 400 IM crew all year has been stepping it up and killing it, on the big stage they came through with some unbelievable performances from top-to-bottom. A lot of ladies posted times that made nationals last year, Jessica Horomanski had a huge swim and in the final heat Kate out there lane one had a big drop. Hannah Moore broke the school record, that was the fastest she's ever been. Hats off to Anna Jahns who got that started right out of the gates and Krista Duffield getting points in the 'A' final which she's never done and that was a good way to go in the 100 fly for her. We didn't have many bullets in the 200 free but Vasiliki moved up and did what she needed to do to beat some people. None of breaststrokers in the 100 breaststroke were at this meet last year; they were either freshmen then Roz has never made the team before, this is their first year so we scored a lot of points in breaststroke and that 'B' final was all freshmen. It makes you feel good about the future of that stroke for our team. Elise has been a stud all year; she's been better all year from start-to-finish. She had a big summer and I'm probably even more impressed that after breaking the school record she turned around and had a really fast time in the relay. That's a really double to do. I'm really proud of that relay; when you lose some people who have always been on that relay like Courtney who has always been our anchor, we've had to put in some new girls and they really stepped up."
Diving Coach Yahya Radman
"Madeline had one of the best meets on the board," said Radman. "Once she left the board...well, I'll just tell you that spinning that high and fast was a new experience for her. She moved up from last year and improved her score. We now shift to a new event and a new day."
Team Standings
NC State remains in third-place with 677.0 points; Virginia remains in the lead with 886.5 points and Louisville sits second with 774.5 points.
Up Next:
The Wolfpack will wrap up the 2018 ACC championships tomorrow with a full day of events. The day will begin with the 200 back, followed by the 100 free, 200 breast and 200 fly.
