RALEIGH – Juniors Tziarra King and Krissi Schuster of the NC State women's soccer team have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, as released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon.
The team recognizes the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Both players own a cumulative 4.00 grade-point average, as King, who hails from Sickerlville, N.J., is a nutrition science major and Schuster, a Polling, Germany native, is an accounting major.
King, the team's leader in goals (9) and points (24), has started all 19 matches this season, while Schuster has earned 15 starts and tallied one goal (golden goal vs. Monmouth) and three assists.
Nominees must be a starter or important reserve and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games, as well as hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30.
First-Team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
NC State opens NCAA Championship play Friday when it hosts Northwestern at Dail Soccer Stadium in the NCAA First Round. Kickoff is 7 p.m. and the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
