Finley Named O’Brien Semifinalist

RALEIGH, N.C. - Wolfpack quarterback Ryan Finley has been named a semifinalist for the 2018 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award. Finley is one of just 16 to make the list.
The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award is presented annually to the best college quarterback, and is the nation's oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award.
Finley, the only player in the FBS who already has a master's degree, stands atop the ACC standing with 311.3 passing yards per game - the No. 8 mark in the FBS. He has passed for 2,490 passing yards this season - already the No. 16 single season mark in school history with four regular season games left + a bowl game. He now ranks third in school history with 9,067 career passing yards.
Finley has also been named a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which annually recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation.
The Davey O'Brien Fan Vote counts as five percent during each round of the voting process, and is combined with the results from the Foundation's national selection committee, which is comprised of journalists, broadcasters, commentators and former winners.
Wolfpack Nation is encouraged to vote for Finley at VoteOBrien.org between now and Sunday, Nov. 18, for the second round of balloting. Fans are invited to cast their vote for the nation's best college quarterback once daily per email address.
