NC State to face the Commodores for fifth time in program history

MIAMI, FLA. – The NC State men's basketball team (6-1) will face Vanderbilt (5-1) Saturday at 5 p.m. inside American Airlines Arena.
The game is part of Miami HoopHall Invitational and is the third game in a quadruple header on Saturday.
The game will be televised on ESPN2 with Dave Lamont and Dalen Cuff on the call. NC State fans can also listen to Tony Haynes and Chucky Brown call the action on the Wolfpack Sports Network.
Pack Tracks
- NC State led for 31:51 on Tuesday night at 22nd-ranked Wisconsin, but the Badgers used a late run to take its first lead of the second half with 2:19 to play as the Pack dropped its first contest of the season, 79-75.
- Junior guard Markell Johnson led the Pack with a career-high 21 points in defeat. He was 9-of-17 shooting and also led the team with five assists. Junior guard CJ Bryce added 18 points, 14 in the second half, and seven rebounds. Senior guard Torin Dorn registered his 11th career double-double - second of the season - with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
- After six home games to start the season, Tuesday's game at Wisconsin started a stretch of games where the Pack will play four of its next five games against Power 5 opponents. In addition to Wisconsin and Vanderbilt, The Pack will play Penn State in Atlantic City on Dec. 15 and host eighth-ranked Auburn on Dec. 19.
- Torin Dorn had his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds. In seven games this season, the Charlotte native has led NC State in scoring five times, in rebounding four times an in steals four times. Through games of November 29, Dorn is the only player in the ACC to rank in the top-10 in the conference in scoring, rebounding and steals. He also ranks fourth in the ACC in field goal percentage.
- NC State is averaging 31.9 points per game from its bench this season. It has outscored the opponents bench by 135 points (223-92).
NC State - Vanderbilt Series
- Saturday marks the fifth all-time meeting between the two programs. Vanderbilt leads the all-time series, 3-1. This will mark the fourth time in five games that the two programs have met on a neutral court.
- Vanderbilt won the last meeting, 86-79, in the Legends Classic played in East Rutherford, N.J.

- A win on Saturday would give NC State a 7-1 record. It would be only the second time since the 2006-07 season (2009-10 & 2014-15) that the Pack started 7-1. A win would also be the 100th victory of head coach Kevin Keatts collegiate coaching career.
- Scoring Offense: The matchup pits two of the highest scoring teams in the country against each other. NC State ranks 13th in the NCAA in scoring offense at 88.6 points per game, while Vanderbilt ranks 16th at at 87.8 points per game.
- Rebounding: Both teams rank in the top-25 in the country in rebounding margin. The Pack has outrebounded six of its seven opponents this season and is 10th in the nation in rebounding margin at +13.1. Vanderbilt has outrebounded five of its six opponents this season and is 25th in the nation in rebounding margin at +8.7.
- Turnovers: The Pack ranks 16th in the NCAA in turnover margin at +5.9. Vanderbilt ranks 262nd in the NCAA in turnover margin at -1.7. The Commodores rank 210th in turnovers per game (14.3), while the Pack ranks 29th in the NCAA in turnovers forced per game (17.7).
