King, Walkling Garner All-Region Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Thanks to their strong seasons on the field, Tziarra King and Ricci Walkling of the NC State women's soccer team collected United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Team honors, as announced by the association on Tuesday.
King was named to the second team, marking the third consecutive year she's earned the honor, while Walkling earned the first all-region honor of her career as she was placed on the third team.
King is the only player in program history to garner three all-region honors in their career.
The duo earned All-ACC Honors earlier in the season, as they both played an integral role in the team's successful 2018 campaign. NC State (11-7-4) made its third straight NCAA Championship appearance for the first time since the 1994-96 seasons, which included reaching its second Sweet 16 appearance in three years and hosting the NCAA First Round for the second consecutive year.
The Wolfpack additionally earned five wins/ties against top 20 opponents and finished with 10+ wins for the third straight year.
The two played a combined 3,642 minutes, as King started all 22 matches this year and Walkling made 19 starts. King led the team with 10 goals and 26 points, while Walkling tallied a team-best seven assists. King's numbers rank her fourth in both categories among the ACC, and Walkling is T7th in assists among the league.
