NC State Rifle Leaps into Top 10 of CRCA Poll at #8

Wolfpack off to 2-0 start to the 2018-19 campaign

MURRAY, Ky. – Following a 2-0 start to the 2018-19 season, highlighted by a win against No.10 Akron in its Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) opener over the weekend, the NC State rifle team has jumped five spots to No. 8 in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.

Last week, the Wolfpack was No. 13 but thanks to a strong performance against the Akron Zips over the weekend, NC State has improved five spots in the ranking. Under first-year head coach Emily Holsopple, the Pack is off to a 2-0 start with wins against The Citadel and Akron.

The No. 8 listing matches the best for the program since the 2016-17 season when NC State was also tabbed No. 8 in the polls.

The Wolfpack's ranking is based off its score of 4664 on Saturday against Akron, as that mark was the eighth-highest among recent matches fired by collegiate rifle programs.

NC State is off this weekend before returning to action at No. 15 Memphis on Saturday, Oct. 27, with action slated to take place inside the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range.
