Women’s Golf Wraps Up First Round Of Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team opened play at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational on Friday at Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Wolfpack shot a combined 298 (+10) to sit in 11^th place out of 18 teams.

Duke currently leads the field with a 271 (-17), while Virginia (277, -11) and Arkansas (285, -3) round out the top three teams on the leaderboard.

Naomi Ko led the Pack with a one-over par 73 to sit in a tie for 26^th, while India Clyburn and Laura Kowohl are one stroke behind Ko in a tie for 32^nd. Mim Sangkapong and Lea Klimentova each shot a 77 (+5) to share a tie for 68^th out of 96 players.

Friday marked Klimentova's first career round as a member of the program.

The team will continue play at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational Saturday. NC State will tee off hole 10 with host UNC-Chapel Hill and Ohio State between 9:09 and 9:45 a.m. Live scoring can be found on GolfStat.com.
