Schedule
RALEIGH – Looking to build off the success of the 2016-17 season that saw the NC State women's tennis team earn a program best NCAA ranking of No. 16, head coach Simon Earnshaw announced the team's fall schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
Â
"One of the goals with the program is to play as strong a schedule as we can, and to provide as much opportunity for growth with our players as possible," he explained. "Obviously we are faced with an extremely challenging ACC schedule and I don't expect that to be any different than the past several seasons. Thus, the non-conference schedule is crucial and I feel we have built in challenging opportunities for us to test the girls and gauge our progress with several difficult road trips. It's great for us to see a cross-section of ranked opponents and I'm also excited for us to play a match on the new USTA National Campus at Lake Nona, Florida. Looking at the totality of the schedule it's quite daunting, but we'll take it match by match and at this stage in the program's development I don't think it makes sense to expect anything else.
Â
"With the fall schedule, we're following a similar pattern to the past couple of seasons. It's been great to start qualifying several of the girls into the National events and we're always able to gain quality competition close to home. We've had quite a long run in given that we started school in mid-August, and I know the team is raring to go and excited to get back to competing, to build on the momentum we had coming off NCAA's this past spring. Go Pack!"

Â
Â
The Fall
As it has the previous two seasons, the Wolfpack opens play at the Duke Invitational in Cary at the Cary Tennis Park from Sept. 15-17, as it looks to carry the momentum gained during the summer playing on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Summer Circuit into the college season.
Â
Following this, the Wolfpack then travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where it competes in the Gopher Invitational at the Baseline Tennis Center from Sept.22-24.
Â
Anna Rogers, Bianca Moldovan and Claudia Wiktorin will then travel to Los Angeles for the 2017 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships. Rogers and Moldovan were selected to compete in pre-qualifying, occurring from Sept. 30 until Oct. 1, while Rogers and Wikotrin made the qualifying draw for doubles, running from Oct. 3-4. Adriana Reami also was chosen as an alternate for singles pre-qualifying. The draw commences from Oct. 5-8, should any members of the Wolfpack advance.
Â
NC State then returns home and makes the short trip to Chapel Hill to play in the ITA Carolinas regional at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on the campus of UNC from Oct. 19-23.
Â
The ITA National Fall Championships in Indian Wells, California, are next on the schedule for the Wolfpack with the Championships running from Nov. 2-5.

Â
NC State then returns for Raleigh for an extended stretch of home meets, first hosting Campbell and Appalachian State on Feb. 10, then Tennessee and East Carolina on Feb. 15.
Â
Conference play begins on Feb. 18, as Duke visit the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. The Wolfpack then renews its rivalry with the North Carolina Tar Heels, making the short trip to Chapel Hill for a dual, then returns home for another dual, this time against East Tennessee State.
Â

April 8 sees the Wolfpack take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend, Indiana, to end its stretch of road contests.
