The NC State men's basketball team visited the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica on Wednesday morning. The team and staff split into three groups and and took a three tour of the sprawling facility, including getting to spend 20 minutes in the Sistine Chapel and viewing two of the most renowned works of art in history - the Sistine Chapel ceiling and The Last Judgement painting - both by Michelangelo.
After leaving the Vatican and having lunch, the players had the afternoon to explore the sprawling city of Rome. Many of the players visited the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, while others walked to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
The team still has two full days in Rome before departing Saturday to return to the United States.
