RALEIGH - Before camp started, Cole Cook set the goal of being a good leader and setting an example for his teammates. Last night when team captains were named, Cole's efforts were recognized, as he was named a captain for the second consecutive year along with Bradley Chubb, Airius Moore and Tony Adams.
"It was amazing, especially for this to be the second year in a row" said Cole. "It really means a lot that my teammates see me in that light, and see me as a leader. It's the most special award I could ever receive."

Today was the hottest and most humid day of camp so far, making it more important than ever to remember head coach Dave Doeren's message of "being the storm" and blocking out distractions. The two-hour session was heavy on combative exercises, as well as 11-on-11 situations, as the Sept. 2 opener slowly creeps closer.
NC State's tight ends and fullbacks are a unique mix, with Cook playing the role of a more traditional tight end, and Jaylen Samuels moving around the field and essentially playing as an "all-purpose back".

While Cook and Samuels are well known to Pack fans, with both being named to preseason watch lists for national awards, several other players in their position group have looked impressive throughout camp, and shown they may be ready to contribute once the season begins.Â
"Dylan Autenrieth and Dylan Parham have both done really well this camp" proclaimed Cook. "They're working on their craft every day. Neither of them have played in a game yet, but I'm fully confident we can have them in there with Jaylen and I."
Getting to work with Cook and Samuels each day in practice, as well as under tight ends/fullbacks/special teams coordinator Eddie Faulkner, Autenrieth and Parham could not be getting better guidance on how to be an impact player in the ACC.

As classes begin for NC State students tomorrow, there will be no practice and the football team will get a well-deserved off-day.
