Women's Tennis Selected for 2018 ITA Kick-Off Weekend

TEMPE, Ariz.—The No. 26 NC State women's tennis team will travel to the University Kentucky in Lexington, K.Y., to take part in the 2018 ITA Kick-Off Weekend as selected by coaches in Wednesday's draft.
The event, set for Jan. 26-29, 2018, features the top 60 teams based on their rank in the final ITA/Oracle team poll.
The Wolfpack had the seventh pick in the draft and was selected as the No. 3 seed in the Lexington, K.Y., host site. In the first round, NC State will take on second-seeded and No. 23 UCLA. The region will also includes hosts No. 18 Kentucky and No. 35 Northwestern, who will take the No. 1 and No. 4 seeds, respectively.

Teams are guaranteed two matches, as the winners and losers of the first day of competition will play the following day.
The winner of each regional will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Madison, Wis., scheduled for Feb. 9-12, 2018.
This will mark the second-straight year the Wolfpack has participated in the event. In 2016, NC State traveled to Pepperdine University where it defeated top-20 ranked Arkansas with an exciting 4-3 victory before falling to No. 3 Pepperdine the following day.
NC State concluded its 2016-17 season in historic fashion, posting a record of 19-11 (7-7 ACC) and a first round victory over No. 35 Oregon in the NCAA Tournament. The ledger sets a program-high number of total wins, conference wins and led the team to its highest finish ever at No. 26.
