Sam Hunt Joins the Pack

Former North Carolina A&T player will join NC State basketball program this summer
RALEIGH - NC State men's basketball head coach Kevin Keatts announced the signing of guard Sam Hunt to a financial aid agreement Monday. Hunt graduated from North Carolina A&T in May and will join the Wolfpack this summer.
Hunt has one year of eligibility remaining.
"Sam is a great young man and will bring much needed depth to our backcourt," Keatts said. "I want guys who are excited about being a part of our program and Sam really wants to be here.
"Sam is a combo guard that can space the floor with his ability to shoot the basketball. He is a good fit for the system and will bring a wealth of experience to our roster."
Hunt led North Carolina A&T in scoring in both years with the program. He averaged 15.4 points per game as a redshirt sophomore in 2015-16 and 12.7 points per game last season. A prolific three-point shooter, Hunt hit 138 three-pointers in his two years with the Aggies, including 74 last season when he shot 35.4 percent from long distance.
A strong free throw shooter, Hunt shot over 90 percent from the foul line in both years with the Aggies. He connected on 74-of-79 attempts last season, shooting 93.7 percent from the line, and leaves A&T having hit 183-of-200 (91.5%) of his free throw attempts.
Hunt graduated in May from North Carolina A&T with a degree in business economics.
Hunt began his collegiate career at Jacksonville University, averaging 4.1 points in his freshman campaign with the Dolphins in the 2013-14 season before electing to transfer to A&T.
The Greensboro, N.C., native graduated from Dudley High School where he averaged 20 points per game as a senior on his way to being named All-Metro 4A Player of the Year. He graduated in the top-15 of his class and earned the East vs. West Academic award.
